It is not often that you find yourselves standing on the sides of a highway. Every single vehicle in its super speed possible progressing toward its destination, the powerful gushes of wind from both the sides trying to decide the destiny of the swaying trees, the countless buses and taxis stopping to let the prospective travelers hop on, or dropping the passengers who finally have reached one step closer to their destinations. All the faces eager to get somewhere, somewhere in time. Even the darkness of the misty night cannot not conceal their perturbs, varied mixed feelings and the acts of calculating their ETA. How wonderful is that two people getting in a same vehicle, covering the same distance for a while are on an altogether different journey.
I have always found the highways a bit eerie. Those speedy cars you feel will never stop for anyone, the disconnected fellow travelers, the long broad roads which extend into vastness and the powerful war of the winds. But while the small residential roads give you a warm hug, the highways let you dream big, chase and race. In our lives we need both of these residential roads and the highways to reach our destinations. So if you are one of those people who have all your lives focused on the highways (minting money and gaining success ) then you are missing out on the warmth of life. These ill-made rocky residential roads may not provide you the easy access to destinations but they do provide you the time to slow down and introspect. For how long do you think you can wander on the highways, when eventually your hearts are rooted in those rocky narrow roads. Do dream and achieve big but never forget the little things that took you there.
Every thing in this world works on balance. If any balance is disturbed, it needs to be restored. We are now living in a place where winters have been cut short, scorching summers have been extended, autumn comes and goes as it likes and spring seems to be lost somewhere. We often lose the good things, when we are not paying attention and we do not pay attention when we become too busy. While wandering on the highways do remember your ties to those narrow roads. We all have our shares of rides on highways and the rocky roads. Do make every ride count. Until I stand on the highway next time waiting for my friends dig on this one.
